Today, most cars have different types of stickers but most people don’t know how to remove these stickers from their cars. In fact, once a sticker is applied, it’s difficult to remove completely and sometimes only part of the sticker can be removed and other times the sticker itself can be removed but residue is left behind. So, we created this guide to help you easily remove stickers from your car no-matter where it’s located.
Steps on How to Remove Stickers from Your Car:
-Prepare a bucket of soapy water next to your car: set a bucket soapy water and dip a wash-rag into it. Wash over the sticker several times and also ensure that you wash the area surrounding the sticker. This will help to soften the sticker.
-Spray the sticker & surrounding areas with a tar removal substance: This will help to break down the glue on the back of the sticker. After, wait for 5-minutes or more before proceeding to the next step. This will allow the tar removal substance to soak through the sticker in-order to ensure easy and quick removal.
-Lift one corner of the sticker using your fingernail: Use a well-grown fingernail to lift the sticker off. In fact, this is the first true attempt on how to remove stickers from your car.
-Slip your plastic spatula under the lifted corner of the sticker: After, slowly slip the plastic spatula further under the sticker until you have removed the largest portion of the sticker that you can. Likewise, use your other hand to guide the spatula carefully underneath the sticker. Try to remove as much of the sticker as possible.
-Wipe the soapy wash rag on areas the residue of the sticker remains: Gently wipe the soapy wash rag across the entire area where the remaining section of the sticker or the residue of the sticker remains. Try again to wipe off what is left behind using the plastic spatula. Do this thoroughly so as to remove any remaining sticker residue.
-Apply a small amount of the tar removal substance to any stubborn sticker residue: Gently apply a small amount of the tar removal substance to whatever pieces of the sticker that have not come off yet. Continue to scrub the area with your soapy rag until every last bit of the sticker is removed so as to leave nothing on your motor vehicle.
-Use only 1-type for tar removal substance: Do not use 2 different types of tar removal or glue removal substances on your motor vehicle during one attempt to remove a sticker. The combination of different substances could cause damage to the car’s paint or create an unwanted chemical reaction.
